Converting an ETH vouch to WHUF

Written by node

Vouching on Ethos now runs on WHUF. If you have an existing ETH vouch, you can convert it: your ETH comes back to you and a new WHUF vouch is created for the same person, in one guided flow.

How to convert

1. Open your profile and find the vouch under your vouch activity.

2. Choose Convert to WHUF on the vouch card.

3. Review the quoted WHUF amount and fees, then confirm.

If your original vouch was made from your Ethos Everywhere wallet (most vouches), the whole conversion runs after a single confirmation. If it was made from your own external wallet, your wallet will ask you to sign each step — stay in the modal until it finishes.

During the guarantee window: bring your own WHUF

While the price guarantee window is open, conversions work in a specific way:

- Your vouched ETH is unvouched and returned to your wallet — it is not swapped.

- The new WHUF vouch is paid from WHUF you already hold in the same wallet, such as tokens from the sale.

> Important: the conversion must run from the wallet that made the original ETH vouch, and it draws WHUF from that same wallet. If your WHUF sits in a different wallet, don’t convert — instead, vouch your WHUF directly from the wallet that holds it, and unvouch your ETH vouch separately.

After the window closes, a Swap vouched ETH option also becomes available, which sells your ETH refund for WHUF as part of the conversion — useful if you don’t hold WHUF.

Fees

- Unvouching ETH carries the standard 1% exit fee.

- Creating the WHUF vouch carries no entry fee at launch.

- The amount shown before you confirm is always the final outcome, with all fees already included.

If something interrupts the conversion

Your funds are never at risk in the middle: at every step either your vouch is unchanged, or your ETH refund is already safely in your wallet. If a conversion from your Ethos Everywhere wallet is interrupted, the vouch card shows Finish conversion so you can pick it up later. If a conversion from your own wallet is interrupted, your funds stay in your wallet — vouch the WHUF from the normal vouch drawer whenever you’re ready.
