How can I prove I'm trustworthy to a crypto community or DAO I want to join?

Build an Ethos profile: link your X account and wallets, get reviews and vouches from people who know your work, get human verified, and share one link that shows it all.

Written by node

Point them at your Ethos profile. It puts your credibility score, the reviews people have written about you, the members who staked money vouching for you, and your human verification on one page at app.ethos.network/profile/x/<handle>, so a community can check you in a minute instead of taking your word for it.

Build it in this order

  1. Create the profile. Ethos is invite-based: ask a member to invite you. If your X account already has a score above 1400 from existing activity, you can sign up without an invite. The inviter's score is bound to your behavior for 180 days, which is why an invite from an established member means something.

  2. Link what you want judged. Attest your X account and the wallets you actually use. Attestation is free, and no two profiles can claim the same account.

  3. Ask for reviews from people who know you. Collaborators, counterparties, people you shipped with. Specific reviews from credible members move your score most. However soliciting for reviews from people you don't know will likely result in a negative review.

  4. Get vouched. A vouch is $WHUF staked on you by someone who believes in you. Few things say more to a stranger than someone else putting their own $WHUF and reputation behind you.

  5. Get human verified. Three verified members confirm you on a call or in person. It removes the "is this even a person" question entirely.

  6. Keep it clean. Spam reviews, review-trading rings and bad invites all cost score.

For communities doing the vetting

Ask applicants for their Ethos link. Read the negative reviews first, check who vouched for them, and look for human verification. If you gate programmatically, the API returns the score and verification status for any handle or wallet.

Common questions

  • I am new and have no reputation yet. Where do I start? With one invite from someone established and a handful of honest reviews. The score starts at a neutral 1200 and the first real activity moves it fastest.

  • Does a high score guarantee entry anywhere? No. It gives a community a reason to look further instead of a reason to stop.

  • Can someone hurt my score with an unfair review? Members vote on reviews, and a downvoted review stops affecting the score. Only the author can edit or remove a review, so answer an unfair one with your record, not with a review of your own. Retaliatory reviews are strongly frowned upon and get downvoted.
