On Ethos Trade you buy trust if you think someone is trustworthy, or distrust if you don't, and sell whenever you want to get your WHUF back. You need WHUF and a little ETH for gas in your Ethos wallet first. See What you need to start trading on Ethos Trade.
How to buy
Open Trade and pick a market. Use the market selector at the top to search for a person, or click Buy Trust or Buy Distrust on their profile.
In the trade panel (Do you trust {name}?), choose Buy.
Choose Yes to buy trust, or No to buy distrust. Each button shows its current price.
Enter how much WHUF to spend, or drag the slider to use a share of your balance.
Check the preview below the amount (see "Reading the preview").
Confirm. You'll see Bought… when it's done.
How to sell
Open the market where you hold trust or distrust.
Choose Sell, then Yes (trust) or No (distrust).
Enter how many tokens to sell, or drag the slider. You can sell part of what you hold.
Check the preview and confirm. The WHUF goes back to your Ethos wallet.
You can only sell trust or distrust that's in your Ethos wallet.
Reading the preview
Before you confirm, the preview shows:
You receive
Effective price. Your average price per token, including fees and price impact. It differs from the price on the Yes and No buttons.
Slippage
Fees. See What are the fees on Ethos Trade?.
Market trust. The market's trust before and after your trade, for example 44.3% → 58.2%.
Slippage
Choose 0.1%, 0.5% or 1% (the default). If the price moves more than that before your trade goes through, the trade doesn't go through and you keep your WHUF.
"Trade submitted. Finalizing on Ethos."
This means your trade went through, but Ethos is still catching up. Your balance and positions update within a moment.
