How Ethos Trade affects your credibility score

A market about you can raise or lower your score once it has real trading activity.

Written by node

An Ethos Trade market about you can raise or lower your credibility score by up to 400 points, but only once people are really trading it. Creating a market doesn't add points on its own.

How it works

  • A new market doesn't change your score. It starts counting once several people have traded it.

  • Above 50% trust, it raises your score. Below 50%, it lowers it. The further market trust is from 50%, the bigger the effect.

  • Bigger, more active markets count more. A small market with little trading has only a small effect.

  • The most a market can move your score is 400 points, up or down.

  • It counts for the person the market is about, no matter who created it.

You can see the effect on your score page, under Reputation market.

Did creating a market use to give points?

Yes. With the old ETH markets, simply opening a market gave you a small score bonus. That bonus doesn't exist on Ethos Trade.

What happens to my old ETH market's score?

On October 8, 2026, the score from old ETH markets started fading out. It shrinks gradually over 60 days and reaches zero in early December 2026. See How to withdraw from the old ETH markets.
