Ethos has two modes of operation: consuming and contributing.

Consuming Ethos Information

You do not need to connect your wallet to benefit from consuming or reading content on Ethos

Anyone can use Ethos freely without connecting a wallet to the webapp. The vast majority of users will fall into this bucket and no wallet connection is required. We think of this most like Wikipedia or Yelp, where you don't have to have an account to gain value from it

Contributing to Ethos

If you want to leave reviews, participate in commentary, upvote or downvote different activities, you'll need to be a contributor on Ethos. This requires having an Ethos profile, which requires an invitation to Ethos to create.

To connect to the Ethos webapp, you can connect using our custom Rainbowkit component in the top right of your screen (mobile will be top middle).

You can then connect to one of our supported wallets through the Rainbowkit connect component. Rabby, Rainbow wallet, Coinbase wallet, Metamask, Frame, Ledger Live, Magic Eden, OKX, Phantom and many more wallets are supported for Ethos.

Once you've successfully connected your wallet, you'll then see your account information and wallet information listed at the top right of the web app.

If you do not have an Ethos profile, you'll see a signifier to the right of your name that indicates you do not have a profile. Certain parts of Ethos (like managing your proflie) will be inaccessible to you.

If you have a pending invitation, you'll be redirect to the onboarding flow to create your Ethos profile. If you connect to Ethos and do not have a pending invitation, you're likely to see the following when trying to interact with the web app.
