How prices move on Ethos Trade
How reputation markets on Ethos Trade set the trust and distrust price.
In a reputation market, you always trade with the market itself, not with another person. There's no order book: the market sets the price based on how much trust and distrust people hold. So there's always a price to buy or sell at.
How it works
Buying trust raises the trust price and lowers the distrust price. Buying distrust does the opposite.
Every market starts at 50 / 50.
Bigger markets move less. The more trust and distrust a market holds, the less a single trade moves its price. New, small markets can swing a lot with one trade.
The price you see vs. the price you pay
The price on the Yes and No buttons is the current price. The Effective price in the preview is your average price for that trade, including fees and how much your trade moves the price. The preview also shows Market trust before and after your trade.
