How to create a market on Ethos Trade

You can create an Ethos Trade market for any X account, your own or someone else's, for 5 WHUF. Each account can only have one market, and once it's created, anyone can trade it.

Before you start

• You need an Ethos profile and your Ethos wallet.

• You need 5 WHUF in your Ethos wallet, plus a little ETH for gas. See What you need to start trading on Ethos Trade.

• The 5 WHUF is burned to create the market and can't be refunded. The cost to create a market can change.

How to create one

1. Start from one of these:

   • In the menu, click Create your own market.

   • On the Trade page, open the market selector and click Create a market.

   • On a profile that doesn't have a market yet, click Create market.

2. Search for the X account you want to create a market for. Ethos shows New market if it doesn't have one yet, or Market already exists if it does.

3. Check the cost and click Burn 5 WHUF and create market.

4. Wait while Ethos sends two transactions from your Ethos wallet: one to approve the WHUF and one to create the market.

5. When you see Market created!, click Go to market to open it, or share it on X.

Good to know

• Every market starts at 50 / 50. Trading moves it from there.

• One market per person. Even if someone has several linked accounts, they get one market.

• Markets are permanent. They can't be closed or removed, by you or by the person they're about.

• Creating a market doesn't earn you anything. Creators don't get trading fees, and creating a market doesn't add to your credibility score by itself. See How Ethos Trade affects your credibility score.
