The $WHUF flywheel
Four mechanisms, one loop — how the token economy sustains itself
$WHUF's economy is a loop where each mechanism feeds the next. No step requires an external subsidy, a revenue model, or new issuance.
1. Rewards encourage vouching
Supply emitted via the smart contract to active vouchers encourages them to participate in the network.
2. Vouches increase the value of the network
It becomes clearer who's trustworthy and who lacks trust signals — increasing the value of Ethos itself.
3. Credibility gains importance
As the signal from vouches becomes more important in how we operate, more participants are attracted to it.
4. Usage deflates the token
Every action burns $WHUF, cutting total supply and feeding the pool's pull — which draws in the next round of vouching.
The hub: token alignment
Everyone in the loop holds the same asset. Holders become more invested in being credible, advocate for the protocol, and seed the wheel with new participants. Alignment isn't one stage of the loop — it's the axle the whole thing turns on.
How it starts
The token sale seeds the wheel: the price guarantee requires vouching, so nearly all unlocked tokens enter the credibility graph on day one.
