v3.9.19: Karma comes to your home sidebar, and buying WHUF with ETH works again

Released 2026-10-27. Your Karma standing now leads the home sidebar, slashes can be tipped, markets count toward score more easily, and buying WHUF with ETH works again.

Added

• A new Karma card leads the home sidebar. It shows your season rank, season Karma, streak, Karma from the last 24 hours and today's tasks, plus the season's top five. If you are unranked, a tooltip tells you why.

• You can now send a Karma tip on slash cards, both open and closed, just like on reviews and vouches.

• When you can't create a market yet, a notice under the create button now explains that your WHUF needs to be in your Ethos wallet. A Fund wallet link lets you move it there right away.

Changed

• A reputation market now counts toward score once it has either 100 WHUF traded or 5 holders. Before, it needed both, so more markets now affect their subjects' scores.

Removed

• The Top activities, Contribute, Accounts you follow and New profiles cards are gone from the home sidebar to make room for the Karma card.

Fixed

• Buying WHUF with ETH works again. It had been failing for everyone since 26 October. Converting vouches that need a swap still doesn't work, and a separate fix is coming.

• Karma daily award cards now show the upvotes from the prize day, the same upvotes the ranking uses. Before, a lower-placed card could show more upvotes than first place.

• The share button on your own slash cards is right-aligned again.

• The Contribute countdown on the Karma card now matches its label's colour, including in dark mode.

• The Karma season header now lines up with the other Karma cards on mobile.

Security

• The sign-in tokens Ethos keeps for your connected X and Discord accounts are now encrypted where they're stored, so they can't be read straight from the database.
