How reach points are earned

Clicks, credible replies, quotes and reposts, and the multipliers that make a rare reply from a big account worth hundreds of clicks.

Reach points are the unit curators earn. They come from two places: real people clicking your link, and credible accounts engaging with your original posts about Ethos. Counts refresh every hour, and the leaderboard shows when they were last updated.

What a post can earn

Event Base points
Someone clicks through to Ethos on your link 0.5
A credible account replies to your post 5
A credible account reposts your post 1
A credible account quote-posts you 15

Credible means an Ethos score of 1400 or more. Replies, quotes and reposts from accounts below that, or with no Ethos score at all, earn nothing.

Clicks

A click is one unique person per link per round. Bots, link-preview crawlers, data-centre traffic and repeats are dropped before they count. Clicks earn points only on Ethos's own campaign, where the link lands in the Ethos app and we can tell who clicked.

Credible engagement is multiplied

A credible reply, quote or repost starts at its base points and is then multiplied by:

  • their score, up to 3×
  • their reach, from 0.25× to 4×
  • how rarely they post, up to 5×

There is no ceiling. A rare reply from a renowned account with real reach can be worth hundreds of clicks, and far more than a regular reply from a friend.

What doesn't count

  • Your own replies to your own post.
  • One-word and generic replies. A reply or quote has to respond to what your post says: "lol", "sounds fun" or "paid?" earn nothing.
  • Replies from accounts with no Ethos profile or a score under 1400.
  • Posts without the paid partnership label, and posts that are clearly negative about Ethos. See Curator fair play.

Regulars count, a little less each time

One engagement per person per post. Across a round, a person's best engagement with you counts in full, their next half, then a quarter. Ten replies from one friend are worth less than three from three strangers.

Engagement between curators counts for half from the time they join. Two curators engaging with each other both ways count for a tenth. Engagement from before someone joined keeps its full value.

Which posts qualify

Original posts about Ethos: posts, threads and clips all count. The monitor finds them by your handle together with the round's qualifying terms (ethos, @ethos_network, ethos.network, ethos.to). A post about Ethos that doesn't say so in words can be counted by hand: ask the team in the curators Telegram group, linked from your Content kit page.
