Your curator link and short links

Your main link is ethos.to/c/<your handle>. It sends people to the Ethos app and records that they came from you. Manage it on My links at curators.ethos.network/me/links.

Where it lands

By default your main link lands on your Ethos profile. You can change it to the Ethos home page or any page in the app. Anything after the slug is a path on the app, so ethos.to/c/alice/profile/x/vitalik lands on that profile.

Short links to any Ethos page

Linking to a profile, a market, a review? Paste the page or search a name on My links and you get a short link like ethos.to/k7x2q9 that knows it came from you. Codes are six characters, unique across all curators, and never expire. Make as many as you like; they all count the same.

What the redirect does

The link opens the Ethos page and adds utm_source=curator and utm_campaign=<your handle> so the click is attributed to you. Links can only point at Ethos pages; a path that would leave Ethos falls back to the home page.

Which clicks count

Each click earns 0.5 reach point, once per person per link per round. Not counted:

• link-preview crawlers (Twitterbot, Slackbot and the like), scripts and headless browsers
• traffic from data-centre and hosting networks
• the same person clicking again in the same round, from any browser

No raw IP addresses are stored. A visitor is recorded as a salted hash that changes every round.

Signed-in clickers are worth more: when someone clicks your link and then signs in to Ethos, the click is marked credible and earns extra. No credit for clicking your own link, for a visit more than 7 days after the click, or for the same person twice in a round.
